lala has a secret beauty salon in her neighbourhood.
The salon has been in operation since 2013, but when her husband died suddenly, she moved in with her aunt.
Her mother died last month, leaving her mother and aunt to take care of the business.
“It was an easy decision to take on and I’m so happy to be able to continue to help the community,” lala said.
“I’m really excited to be here and to share the love with the community.”
Lala has been using the salon to help people around her.
“When I first got here, I was worried about getting my clothes from the store, but now that my husband has passed, I feel much more confident that I can wear the makeup, I can put on the clothes and I can still get the same quality products that I’m used to,” lalas aunt said.
Her aunt also said that lala is always looking to give back to the community, even when she’s not working.
“She’s a very caring person and she has a really good sense of humour and I know she’s been through a lot of things,” lalam’s aunt said, adding that she is so thankful for lala being here.
“All she wants to do is give back and to be good to people and to help them with whatever they need.”
Lalas mother is also excited to continue running the salon.
“Her mother is very much involved in the business,” she said.
The family is planning to keep lalasmas salon open until her daughter has completed her nursing program.
“We’ve been able to give people that are not as well off, so it’s really helping the community and helping the elderly, and it’s also helping the children,” lamas mother said.
