A 5-month-old baby girl was found dead inside her moms house Monday in Montgomery County, Md., police said.
The infant was found in a bedroom and was pronounced dead at the scene, Montgomery County Police Chief Stephen Schulte said.
He said the baby had not been taken to a hospital and the child was expected to survive.
The child was found about 9 p.m. in a basement bedroom, Schultes office said.
A baby shower was held at the residence at a time when the home was in a dangerous condition, he said.
“This was a very tragic situation,” Schulthe said.
Authorities are investigating the death.
The Montgomery County Health Department said a woman and her boyfriend were found dead near the house at 9:10 p.ms.
Monday.
The woman had been working at the house for about six months and had been caring for the baby, who was her second child.
