The beauty salon in downtown Dallas is a three-story building with a sign that reads “Renu beauty” on it.
On Monday, it closed.
“We are extremely saddened by this tragedy,” the Dallas Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family, friends, and employees.
We are in the process of gathering all of the information and will share it publicly.”
The Department of Public Safety did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The shooting happened just before noon at the beauty salon on West Congress Street, near the intersection of South Congress and North Capitol streets.
The victim was identified as 27-year-old Zachary T. Williams.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Dallas Morning News.
“I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a mom, to be one of those people that’s dealing with something like this, and you’re in the middle of it and you can’t believe it,” said Michelle Williams, who works in the beauty shop.
The store had been a fixture in downtown downtown Dallas for more than 20 years.
The building, which is located in a high-rise apartment complex, is the only one of its kind in the Dallas area.
It has a sign saying, “Renua beauty,” and is decorated with a painting of a woman in a red dress holding a flower.
The sign also says that it is “A Place for the Strong, The Strongest.”
“I’ve never been in a situation where there’s so many people,” said T.A. Williams, adding that he was “kind of shocked” to learn of the shooting.
“The way you’re able to walk in here, it’s a great place,” he said.
“And the employees were great.”
The woman who was in the salon when the shooting happened said she and the other employees were trying to help the victim.
“You could tell they were trying.
They were trying and trying and it didn’t work,” she told NBC affiliate WFAA.
I think that he could have been here if he wanted to be here. “
They were so close to him.
“
There’s a lot of love, there’s a love that’s going on right now, and that’s what I’m here for.”
